Attorney BARBARA NESBET is a Certified Specialist, Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law, State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization and, since 2022, is a licensed member of the Washington State Bar. She assists clients in the West Silicon Valley (Campbell, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga) and on Orcas Island, Washington. She has been a member of the State Bar of California since 1996 and started her own law practice in 2005 in California, expanding to Washington State in 2022. She is a member of the Santa Clara County Estate Planning Council, Silicon Valley Bar Association and King County Bar Association. Her practice focuses on estate planning, trust administration, and probate administration. She received her BA in 1990 from Harvard University and her JD/MBA in 1995/1997 from the University of California at Davis. Ms. Nesbet provides individuals and their families with estate planning services to give them peace of mind and to let them rest in peace knowing that their loved ones have been taken care of and provided for.

Ms. Nesbet feels very strongly about the importance of giving back to her community. A former city councilmember and mayor in Monte Sereno, California, she has served as a board member and chairperson for the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority, is a past president of the Los Gatos-Saratoga Branch of the American Association of University Women ("AAUW"), is a former board member and chairperson of Services for Brain Injury (a 501(c)(3)) in San Jose, California, the First Five Southwest Regional Partnership (Santa Clara County) for children and families, and the Santa Clara County Library Joint Powers Authority. Ms. Nesbet is an experienced speaker and has participated in taped television broadcasts, at public speaking forums and at fundraising events.
She believes that both individuals and non-profit organizations should take advantage of the significant tax deductions and fundraising potential available to them through the estate planning process.
